Pillow Finishing Class

Learn how to turn your completed needlepoint canvas into a professionally finished pillow! This hands-on class will walk you through the pillow finishing process from start to finish, including preparing your stitched canvas, cutting and assembling your materials, sewing your pillow, and creating a polished finished piece you’ll be proud to display.

Sewing machine experience is required for this class. Participants should be comfortable operating a sewing machine independently, including threading the machine, sewing a straight seam, and basic machine troubleshooting. This is a pillow-finishing class rather than an introductory sewing class.

During the class, we’ll cover techniques such as:

• Preparing and trimming your completed needlepoint canvas

• Measuring and cutting backing fabric

• Properly aligning your needlepoint and fabric

• Adding piping or trim

• Sewing and assembling the pillow

• Creating clean corners and edges

• Inserting the pillow form

• Tips and tricks for achieving a professional-looking finish

Participants will need to bring their completed needlepoint canvas as well as additional sewing and finishing supplies. A detailed materials list, required measurements, sewing machine information, and instructions on exactly what to bring will be sent to registered participants prior to the class.

Please arrive with all requested materials and your canvas completely stitched and ready for finishing.

Experience Level: Intermediate — prior sewing machine experience required.
